Play Review
by Joseph N. Feinstein

Have you ever wondered where musicals that don't make it to Broadway go?  Well, they go to a Purgatory called The Grave White Way.  There, they get one additional hearing to see if they, their actors, their writers and their producers have an outside chance of getting out of that place.  A musical about a musical that never made it?  A musical based on the works of such greats as Gus Pusman, Felix Gelf or Dickey Ernest?  You've never heard of these artists?  Friends, you have to give them one last chance!

In the capable hands of Joe Patrick Ward and his very talented quintet of performers you will hear, see and delight in musical numbers you may soon "forget", but in a performance which spoofs Broadway musicals so brilliantly that you will rise to give a standing ovation.  This is one amusing, joyous and delicious experience.  And when John Raitt, yes, THE John Raitt, appeared for a cameo to sing one more "forgettable" song, you will cheer very, very loudly along with a most appreciative audience.

The Grave White Way is sensational in what it does in the way of choreography, and music for these performers are very well rehearsed, extremely talented and terrific!  This is a sleeper at the Hudson Backstage which you will enjoy thoroughly!  Tell 'em Joseph sent you.
